I have done this by simply putting the desired image files on a CD/DVD with k3b. My DVD player read the disc and automatically played it as a slide show. No special software needed, though others may know of some to do more sophisticated things. Did you burn it as a data disk? I tried that and they won't display on the TV. I didn't see any other way to burn them. -- Ken Schneider UNIX since 1989, linux since 1994, SuSE since 1998 -- Check the headers for your unsubscription address For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the archives at http://lists.suse.com Please read the FAQs: suse-linux-e-faq@suse.com

This depends on two things - the CD/DVD playeri itself and how the CD/DVD was burned. Some CD/DVD players support formats such as the Photo CD. If the CD/DVD is burned in accordance with this standard and the CD/DVD player supports it ... then yes it will support it. I have a Sampo 631CF - it will display JPEGs in a slide show as well (has a Compact Flash on it to boot!). Other cheaper Taiwan models ($20-30 Sears/Radio Shack modesl) ... they are cheap in every way and tend to overall not work let alone display pictures - at least the ones I have and tried to use ... YMMV. But if you simply burn a series of JPEG pictures and expect it to work - you're in for a rude awakening. So - more info is needed on the player before really accurate answers can be provided. Look for editoring software that will create VCDs. Even my five year old DVD player will play VCDs. /Per Jessen, Zürich -- Check the headers for your unsubscription address For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the archives at http://lists.suse.com Please read the FAQs: suse-linux-e-faq@suse.com

Unless it really needs to be on a CD, and not on a DVD, you could try this: URL:http://freshmeat.net/projects/dvdslideshow/ Regards, David Bolt -- Member of Team Acorn checking nodes at 50 Mnodes/s: http://www.distributed.net/ AMD1800 1Gb WinXP/SUSE 9.3 | AMD2400 256Mb SuSE 9.0 | A3010 4Mb RISCOS 3.11 AMD2400(32) 768Mb SUSE 10.0 | Falcon 14Mb TOS 4.02 | A4000 4Mb RISCOS 3.11 AMD2600(64) 512Mb SUSE 10.0 | | RPC600 129Mb RISCOS 3.6 -- Check the headers for your unsubscription address For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the archives at http://lists.suse.com Please read the FAQs: suse-linux-e-faq@suse.com

I tried creating as a data DVD but could not view them and could not see any other way to create the DVD. I just did this today.... first time. Threw about 20 pictures on a CD (data CD project) and it played on 3 DVD players here... Some players are better than others... for speed or for slide shows. -- Check the headers for your unsubscription address For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the archives at http://lists.suse.com Please read the FAQs: suse-linux-e-faq@suse.com

I use -R dvd the older players dont work with +R. I have a sony so it does not matter but -R is more widely supported. -- ___ _ _ _ ____ _ _ _ | | | | [__ | | | |___ |_|_| ___] | \/ -- Check the headers for your unsubscription address For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the archives at http://lists.suse.com Please read the FAQs: suse-linux-e-faq@suse.com

That is what I used. I believe my player does not support looking at pictures.
