I just got my 9.2 from Germany last night. So far so good other than NVIDIA requiring a few installs. I can't seem to find the HTML editors in yast install software. They should be here: Productivity/Publishing/HTML/editors according to the package listing on SuSE web site, but I can't find them (bluefish, NVU, etc) nor are they on the disks. anybody else have this problem? thanks Thom Nuzum

Nevermind: found them on the DVD which is dual layer and does not work on install.

You mean doesn't work for you. I did my install from the DVD and loved it. Mike -- Powered by SuSE 9.2 Kernel 2.6.8 KDE 3.3.0 Kmail 1.7.1 For Mondo/Mindi backup support go to http://www.mikenjane.net/~mike 4:30pm up 1 day 22:38, 5 users, load average: 2.56, 2.63, 2.66

This "only on the DVD" mindset is really starting to get to me... Many of us have computers/servers/etc, that don't have DVDs, and don't necessarily have the space to throw 8 gigs of data on a network share somewhere. Hopefully they'll at least be nice enough to throw them on the "ftp version" when it's posted on suse.com so we can install the other software without screwing around with manually transferring RPMs off the damn DVD.

My DVD drive is a 2 year old LG. The problem I had was that it could not find certain files on the install. The CDs worked fine. I did manage to get the DVD recognized as source so there are no problems now. I don't know much about this dual layer crap, but I'm not going to go out and buy an expensive new player. My only regret is having searched for an hour looking for the HTML editors. I found Quanta too finally.

Mine is a 2+ year old pioneer SCSI dvd drive. Recognized the dual layer fine. I did run a cleaner through it not too long ago.

Expensive? I've seen them around here for less than $50, That's player not burner.. Burners are going for around $90.
