thank the doc is really confusing!
even worst than I thought :-( is this config "pop3s"??? don't seems to. If I select pop3s only in dovecot, I can't login. anyway, telnet to port 995 don't give the dovecot prompt. in thunderbird, I have several parts relative to ssl: - the pop3 port (default 110) - secured connection (plain, tls, or ssl) - secured authentification looks like the config in question here is pop3, tls is that true?? thanks jdd -- http://www.dodin.net http://valerie.dodin.org http://news.opensuse.org/2009/04/13/people-of-opensuse-jean-daniel-dodin/ -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Probably. Sorry, I don't really know much about dovecot as I'm maintaining cyrus all over the place. You can never telnet to port 995 as it requires to talk via SSL immediately but if the port is open it should work when selecting SSL in TB. It can also work via port 110 and TLS but in the end it's a server thing. Use standard ports and *IMAP*, staying away from POP3 is recommended for your mental health ;-) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Yes, you can.
right now, with dovecot, I have to create subfolders with complex action on the server side. really not handy. jdd -- http://www.dodin.net http://valerie.dodin.org http://news.opensuse.org/2009/04/13/people-of-opensuse-jean-daniel-dodin/ -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I'm using dovecot and I can create folders on either side and have multiple clients doing so. You should fix your dovecot configuration. -- Boyd Stephen Smith Jr. ,= ,-_-. =. bss@iguanasuicide.net ((_/)o o(\_)) ICQ: 514984 YM/AIM: DaTwinkDaddy `-'(. .)`-' http://iguanasuicide.net/ \_/
