Hiya, Just wondering if anyone has got their TV cards running on SuSE 7.1 with the 2.4 kernel, without doing it manually. Unfortuantly the configuration book only seems to apply to 2.2 kernel series. Loading manually is a pain in the #$#@$ as there are a lot of modules to load. Also, once up and running kwintv complains that kde libs have been set to suid, then it fails to load. Anyone know how I can fix that? Matt
My Avermedia keeps working on kernel 2.4.2 (7.1 Pro) with the settings I created on 6.4/2.2.14 system. But it was big PITA to find the proper modules parameters to make it work the first time! -Kastus On Thu, Mar 15, 2001 at 11:32:42AM -0800, Matthew Johnson wrote:

Yes, my hauppauge came right up with default install of bothe 2.2.18 and 2.4.0. Also after 2.4.2 upgrade it still worked. My only problem is that it's almost black and white. My 6.4 system with 2.4.1 kernel and glibc-2.2.3 the colors were very good. I havn't had time to try to figure out my color problem but it did come right up with no mods to anything.
Yes, my Hauppauge cards run 'out of the box' for my 3 pc, no major problem except the Nicam stereo are unable to be decoded and the radio tuner (dunno where and how to use it). Both 2.2.16 and 2.4.0 works, don't need to compile, it's already in the kernel since 7.0. Dennis/sg
