[opensuse] leap42.1: KDE3-konsole problem after update for plasma to 5.20
Hi everyone, this morning I did a "zypper patch" that brought a lot of updated packages, with may of the containing "plasma" and "5.20" in their names :) After that patch, I logged off and on again to make sure there is no library hassle in the background. After logon, the screen settings were gone. I use 2 monitors, recognized as HDMI1 and HDMI2 by the KDE system settings. I had to readjust them side by side, but that's not the problem. The problem was that my konsole didn't show up. I use /opt/kde3/bin/konsole, not the usual KDE4 konsole. After starting my konsole3, the menu freezes, and the surface (folder view) of my desktop doesn't accept any klick. Only the freshly opened window was responsive. After a little fiddling, I found out that after opening konsole3, the system seems to be confused. After closing konsole3, I got a message that kinit couldn't start /opt/kde3/bin/konsole. So, I opened a new konsole3, and everything blocked again. The I issued "/opt/kde3/bin/konsole &", and a new konsole3 window popped up. Now I closed the konsole3 startet from menu, and everything runs as before. Has anyone else seen that konsole3 can't be started from the menu? It is not a general KDE3 problem, since Konqueror3 (preferred, because it still supports to distinguish between small and capital letters) runs fine - except that I have to wait a bit longer with my login, since I only get a "cannot contact klauncher" message from it when I log on too soon.
