[opensuse] RE: Changing Global File Security
Open Yast>Security>Local Security>Custom>set file permissions to "secure" Can anyone please have a look at behind yast2 and tell me what is the impact of this action and when is it executed. This may solve up to 3 Major Bug issues I have Open but without making a fool out of myself I need to know what it does. Also is its action reversible by opening the same app. about 24 hours later and setting back to easy???? I am guessing it is a cron job but once executed cannot be undone???????/ Scott

It will remove setuid bits from some applications and similar.

Yes.

It should get executed at every SUSEconfig run, and also right after changing it in YAST. Ciao, Marcus -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

It applies /etc/permissions.secure and /etc/permissions.local, plus some in /etc/permissions.d/. - -- Cheers, Carlos E.
