Suse 9.1: xterm Xt error: Can't open display: 10.26.130.31:0.0
Hi folks I am using 9.1 on an Intel P4, kernel 2.6.5-7.95-default. I am trying to use my local display for remote applications when rlogging into a computer on the local network. The display variable is correctly set, however I still get xterm Xt error: Can't open display: 10.26.130.31:0.0 when launching xterm from the remote computer. I tried removing all the "-nolisten tcp" in /etc/opt/kde3/share/config/kdm/Xservers, and I have of course used xhost to allow remote access to my display. Any suggestions? -- Sune Nørhøj Jespersen

Have you checked yast for similar settings? I seem to remember something about that in yast as well (its not really a kde thing, its an X thing...) -- _____________________________________ John Andersen

yast security, check 'Allow Remote Graphical Login'. And mind the firewall. If it it does not work with the firewall on, try it (briefly) with the firewall off. Cheers, Leen

yast security, check 'Allow Remote Graphical Login'.
Does not help....

There is no firewall configured (both computers are behind the same firewall). Before updating the kernel the other day, I could make it work by removing all the "-nolisten tcp" in /etc/opt/kde3/share/config/kdm/Xservers. Cheers, Sune
