I have a few small questions.
Very small, but i'm unable fo find it, but somebody MUST know, (or a another cool consoleeditor with syntax-hilight and LineNr's??) ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
How do i get into the menubar of the console-emacs? how do i get the line numbers into every line?
Another small one using expect: why does expect show my password in clear, when i try to use expects command "expect" and "send 'password'\r" in an ssh session. I used the exact same prozedure for telnet, and there the password does not show up. I also tried using the stty -echo etc commands. MainQuestion #1
How legal is mirroring a webpage like the java-api. i would like to mirror it locally for me and a handfull of other users, to use as permanent and fast online docu. I know, that a good tool is wget, are there others to recommend??. any better ones, or a complete syntax? I used: wget --force-directories --no-host-directories --cut-dirs=5 --mirror --domains=java.sun.com --no-parent <JavaApi-Address> Comments?

I won't speak to the legal/permissions issues, but one way to do this might be to turn on the cacheing proxy features of Apache. I'm not sure what the max lifetime can be set to. Of course you could also use Squid to do this. Using either of these tools, any recently requested page will be available immediately, and you won't have to worry about keeping your copies up to date.
yeah, good idea. but then the everyday stuff i surf to (alot) also gets stored for ages, clogging up lots of space, no? Is this featurecontrolable by domain, say, every page at *.java.sun.com gets stored for a great amount of time, while the rest vanish quick enough as usual?. And, will other users of my network be able to acces it via my computers apache or squid cache? ,without having to be the default proxy for these clients? could they acces it with an url of type like: http://squidhost/cache/javaApi/bla.html Main Question #2
How could i use one keyboard to control the consoles of two networked machines, so that a can switch between them with ALT-F1(-3):pc1 and ALT-F4(-6):pc2 what are the equivalent files of /dev/pts/.. for the consoles? /dev/tty[1-6]?
I would like to:
press CTRL-ALT-F3(-F6) "pc2 tty3 Login:" <login and work> <Additional Bonus-Feature:> use mouse@pc1 on console@pc2 etc... I would like to find out where CTRL-ALT-FX gets handled?, the Xserver? and where does ALT-FX from the console get handled?
Could i for ex: cat /dev/kdb(@pc1) | <networksocket> | /dev/<TTY> ; export
="TTY[X] @ pc2" or the same with the mouse, like: Link /dev/ps2(@pc1) | <net>| /dev/netm
?
and then gpm --device /dev/netm --type ps2; does this sound like an approach or bullshit to you? Hints, tips, solutions?
