[SLE] Swap space not being used
We have a system that has 48 MB RAM running kernel 2.2.14. There is 93 MB of Swap space configured. This system is used as a webserver running Apache with medium use. We have noticed that using the Free command and TOP that the Swap space doesn't seem to ever get used. "swapon -s" on this system yields: " /dev/hda partition 93740 0 -1". Even when free memory goes < 1000K the swap space doesn't get used. Another system with the same kernel but with 64MB RAM does get it's swap space used even though the server load is non-existant. Any ideas are appreciated. What are you running that makes you think that swap needs to be used? On my box with 32MB, I rarely see much swap used. (Mostly no more than just a couple MB.)
