I have a system here in town which has the ability via sudo to stop and start things like apache, samba, etc at a facility located in Los Angeles. Is there any way to allow the stop and start of said processes w/out being prompted for a password by sudo for things like this? -Bill

Yes, there is a way. See examples with NOPASSWD in man page for sudoers Regards, -Kastus
