[opensuse] why is wireless card PRO/Wireless 2015ABG not supported by the latest SuSE kernel ?
Browsing through the system log it appears that yesterday I inadvertently authorized SuSE 11.1 kernel update. As a result the wireless card is not recognized. It looks like the wireless card driver is not automatically loaded by the new kernel. I do not know how to configure the h/w inventory in such a way as to force it to load it. Any suggestion is welcome. In the following I am pasting the output of commands "lsmod" and "lspci". Hi, does that mean that ipw2200 (which I think is the needed module) can not be loaded ( 'modprobe ipw2200' as root ) ? -- Best regards / s pozdravem Petr Uzel, openSUSE Community Multiplier Team ----------------------------------------------------------------- SUSE LINUX, s.r.o. e-mail: puzel@suse.cz Lihovarská 1060/12 http://www.suse.cz 190 00 Prague 9, CR

Hi,
does that mean that ipw2200 (which I think is the needed module) can not be loaded ( 'modprobe ipw2200' as root ) ?
Well, that module seems to be missing: linux-326k:/home/mauede # whoami root linux-326k:/home/mauede # modprobe ipw2200 FATAL: Module ipw2200 not found.

You'll have to recompile this module... -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
