I hate this printer!!! I asked the list a few days ago if someone has managed to install this printer on a SuSE8.1 fully patched box. Someone recommeded to use the HP 5550 driver, however, it didn't work for me. I do not care if I can print with it from SuSE. What my main concern is to be able to print from Windows since this printer is available via Samba. Any other ideas? Thanks guys! Chris PS: The printer has a USB connection. YAST sees it but no driver for it. I have already tried and downloaded the hpijs.rpm file, untar it, run ./configure but there is no make file generated as the instructions say.... I hate this printer!

I'm shooting in the dark here, but... If it's the Windows print you need, install the drivers on your Windows computer. On Linux, install it as a raw printer. I would expect Windows to be able to handle it from there. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.2-rc1-SuSE (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFAPqIVjeziQOokQnARAor4AJ9JVSJMU1tNQF8UTSOAVbbBwsdOIQCgueQq 2Mgn6qiIuQ53Ax7SikVQfIQ= =qHqN -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
