[opensuse] Print to file not available
After a recent system re-install (hard drive crash) the "print to file" option is no longer available on the print menu (ctrl-P), only the installed printers are shown. These are the same printers that were installed on previous install. The "print to file" option is not available in "Yast > hardware > printers" and also is not an option in CUPS setup. Is this option installed by programs such as Okular? (installed 4.11.5-150) openSuSE 13.1 KDE 4.11.2 In the previous install I was able to do CTRL-P, select "print to file", and save it to a *.pdf file. This is useful if I don't want to print the whole document, only a selected portion. This is either an application feature, or a desktop feature. For instance, if I do it in Thunderbird, I get a dialog presented by Thunderbird that does contain the option to print to pdf. If I try in "gnote", I get the same dialog. But if I do it in LibreOffice, I don't. If I do it in kwrite I get a different dialog, with printers in different order, that includes a print to pdf and print to postscript file at the end. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. Thanks, Carlos. Maybe it's just old age and senility creeping up but it seems like every time I re-install OS some minor difference occurs. After another re-install, "print to file" shows up in LibreOffice (same version) where it didn't last time. Ah well, such is life.
