May I? Let's assume, for discussion's sake that Gates buys the legislation to
outlaw open-source by imposing what?, stiff penalties for development that
isn't proprietary? No, more likely, legislation that protects their
code by nailing any product [open-source] that has the "look and feel" of
reengineering. :)
Now, we have to ask ourselves, can he blanket the globe? or just the U.S.
And, as a side-note to a point mentioned in the article, has anyone received
one or more recruiter announcements lately that restrict any applicants to
those that can prove they have an H1-B visa. If you don't, don't bother
replying. I have.

You know thats one bic crock of BS , It seems they want to save money on salerys , or just have mor controll/pull with the emplyee , as they are holding the visa , and they can not take the visa with them if they try to jump to another Co. Shucks , we hava a lot of older experiances programmers and engineers that only need some re tooling to get up to speed with the newer languages , but no they wan them just out of college. Its such a shem with all the talent and the fact that these peaple realy do wnat to work , are more respobsbel , will show up on time , but they would rather work the younger ones with 2 hour days .
I'd like to collect them if you have them, and send every damn stupid legislator in the country a big basket of 'em.
Now that I've said my piece, I'll end with an apology for the OT imposition. Just a thought, Tom

Hi, It's probably one of the many moves to master all OS's. It's not only the computer OS but the game OS, the industry machine related OS and even the future related home OS's ( programming your home equipment). Dangerous !!! Cheers Filip. Le Vendredi 16 Fvrier 2001 07:01, vous avez crit :

He said they can.... not that they would! rof,l You're watching a company in its death throes... Reminds me of a plant hit by 2,4-D.... lots of sudden, dramatic offshoots, without much strength to them.... Win98, 98SE, WinME, WinCE, Win2000 and now WinXP... Will the real OS please stand up? ...absolutely amazing, almost without words... In Spain there's an old saying, they say it was said by an old general ( Cid Campeador ) to his troops when they were afraid because they were being prosecuted, and its something like "They bark, thus we are riding" ( thus meaning "so that means" - horrible translation probably, but you get the idea :) - -- - From the forgotten corner in Europe, Land of Breogan Powered by GNU/Linux SuSE 7.0 - Linux user #97.266 ...may the force be with you -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.1e-SuSE (GNU/Linux) Comment: For info see http://www.gnupg.org iD8DBQE6jDiO43VmOmspzC4RAv/oAJ48dG3KHhH/ZCOK8P0oqDfwRr180gCggs56 gLVZuOnpQxcM4qxmMtcMlWk= =hmd0 -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
