I need to append a path to the $PATH environment variable... I know how to do this using setenv, but I don't seem to have setenv (even though there is a man page for it) in SuSE7.3... or at least I cannot find it. So... (in a massive display of ignorance) how to I append a new path to the $PATH environment variable, and make it stick? C.

In /etc/profile.local: (just create the file if it does not exist) PATH=$PATH:/additional/path/ export PATH adds "additional/path" to the general path HTH Jon
