Yes, just tried it on my server, running SuSE 8.2

Data...Would running with DMA off help? Or is it the Toshiba DVD drive not liking the disk? Matt

Ok the model is TOSHIBA DVD-ROM SD-M1502, ATAPI CD/DVD-ROM drive and only a problem with that one disk for some reason. Should I get a DVD writer? The DVD does mount fine on an older system running SuSE 8.2. Matt

Ok, just tried it with and without subfs. Switched DMA access to off and still not mounting. Maybe its the drive not liking the medium? Its a commercial DVD, X-Plane 8. New drive perhaps? The one in the server is about 6 years old... Matt

I have had problems with different DVD readers with the SuSE DVD. I don't know the answer but it also appears that DVD media has a lot to do with it. Some readers like brand A whilst others will only read brand B. I have a Pioneer DVD burner (only burn single layer) and I have some DVD's that it will not burn at all although I have never had a failure with Ritek media. I borrowed a dual layer burner to burn a backup copy of the SuSE DVD and the pioneer would not read the DVD at all until I updated the firmware to the latest version. Now it read the DVD without any problems. So I would say you will probably need a new DVD reader. -- Regards, Graham Smith ---------------------------------------------------------

Good answer, but unfortunately there is no new firmware for this model. Maybe this is an excuse to get the dvd writer? Got 3 days worth of music that needs to be backed up :). Matt
