So, do you consider asking here and using the list in a similar fashion as you used google, wrong? If yes, why? avidemux does a super job with this. I believe it is on the packman or vlc repos. -- Ken Schneider SuSe since Version 5.2, June 1998 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

OK, maybe I should restate this, how can I do many files at one time. So far I've only seen ways to do one at a time. Thanks, JIM

ffmpeg -i "/your_file/.flv" "/your_file/.avi" Can work for one file. If you have multiple files, I'd suggest putting them in a text file then appending the command to each line? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Question: why do you want to convert FLV files to AVI? (If my memory serves me right, you can simply rename a *.flv file to the extension *.avi and any of the players in openSUSE/linux (kaffeine, amarok, etc) will play the file. For those using M$ you need to buy a conversion program [which is probably why you are asking the question?].) Because I want to burn the files to CD and watch them on my TV. My DVD player does not see the FLV files. SO if I just rename them to AVI would that work?

Bite your tongue! :) The only way I use M$ is on top of VMware! Thanks and Merry Christmas! You can use ffmpeg, which can be found in the Packman repo, using
something as simple as this:
ffmpeg -i "
