I've googled and tried many things, but none work. # mount|grep usb usbfs on /proc/bus/usb type usbfs (rw,devgid=46,devmode=664,) /dev/bus/usb on /proc/bus/usb type none (rw,bind) Appreciate any suggestions. VirtualBox 2.0.6 and previous versions all affected.
Are you sure your devgid is right?? For USB, for openSuSE in fstab add: none /proc/bus/usb usbfs auto,busgid=XXX,busmode=0775,devgid=XXX,devmode=0664 0 0 where XXX is the vboxuser gid from /etc/group. Usually the gid for virtualbox is over 1000 on openSuSE because that is what openSuSE sets and the minimum number for usergids and when other groups are added they start counting up from 1000. So I'm not convinced the devgid=46 is right. Could be, but that would be strange. Check with grep vbox /etc/group: 01:51 ecstasy:~> grep vbox /etc/group vboxusers:!:1009:david Mine is 1009
