7.3 online updte and version numbers
When I run the Yast2 online update on my SuSE 7.3 pc it installs all the updates and seems to do everything properly. If I run a Nessus scan on it it tells me.. You are running a version of SSH which is older than version 1.2.32, or a version of OpenSSH which is older than 2.3.0. ..I checked the version of ssh and it's.. SSH Version 1.2.27 [i386-suse-linux], protocol version 1.5. Standard version. Does not use RSAREF. ..doesn't Yast2 update insecure programs or does the version number not get updated with an online update? How can I be sure my system is secure? -- (o< |) //\ Powered by SuSE Linux /\obt. SuSE doesn't change the versions. They do security upgrades correcting the errors on the source, in order not to break dependencies. Search the "suse-security-announce" mail list for security related announcements. You will see entries related to ssh and 7.3. -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson
