In order to get the modules to load you will need to:
(1) Upgrade to modutils to at least 2.4.
Got the 2.4.2 from the FTP site. Thanks for the verification.
(2) You might also have to put the line-
path=/lib/modules/2.4.2/kernel
at the top of your modules.conf file.
Charles, Fortunately I am not doing ppp. We'll see how things go with pppoe and ADSL soon enough. (courage Steve, courage) That 'path=' is an interesting notion. Any documentation to look at? I believe what I should be striving for is to have the SuSE provided modules in /lib/modules/2.4.2-4GB and the kernel modules created during the build combined into one "module mapping space". But how? Perhaps I need to read a book on abstract algebra? {:-/> Oh well, this brick wall can't last forever. I have a very hard head. Steve
You could try e-mailing mantel@suse.de. He should be able to help you and I also like to suggest this be documented on portal.suse.com so anyone who gets stuck has a reference (and get print it just in case). Matt On Saturday 03 March 2001 22:40, Steven T. Hatton wrote:
