Hi peoples, Just got this in my email. Looks exciting enough to want to try and image it !!! There's no danger of a collision. Even so, a big space rock will soon come so close to Earth that sky watchers can see it through binoculars. FULL STORY at http://science.nasa.gov/headlines/y2002/30jul_ny40.htm?list563691 -- Clive. I've got the same problem but not got around to sorting it yet. I think I had read that the upgrade, in my case to kde3.0.1 meant that there is a library missing, I can't remember which one, a qt library I think, and the solution was to create a symlink to the old one, but since I can't remember exactly I hope this helps you a bit. -- .oOO-Richard-Sheffield-UK-OOo.
yes, i also tried to mess around with links, but with no success ...

Fred I had the problem with yast not loading at all. Error Line 154: 1516 segmentation fault /usr/lib/YaST2/y2base $module "$@" ncurses Someone on the list here suggested qt3-non-mt-3.0.4-87.rpm. Thanks a million! It worked for me too! fred

Hoe did you intstall that rpm? When I try it, this happens: error: failed dependencies: qt3 = 3.0.4 is needed by qt3-non-mt-3.0.4-87 I think I have qt 3.0.3 now Kees
I've had this problem almost since I installed 8.0. My particular symptom included the segmentation fault. I've just done some checking on the yast2 script which actally runs /usr/lib/YaST2/bin/y2base to call the various modules with this line (154): /usr/lib/YaST2/bin/y2base $module "$@" qt -geometry "$Y2_GEOMETRY" -style="$Y2_STYLE" -fn $Y2_XFONT The error occurs at line 154 which is where the call to y2base occurs. I've found by trial and error changes in the script that the problem is related to the -geometry setting. Y2_GEOMETRY is set to 800x600 in the script. With either no geometry setting, or with the setting changed to 640x480, everything seems to work. I haven't tried other settings to see if other options work. This is on a laptop with 1024x760 resolution. I'm sure there's a ??logical?? explanation for this, but for the time being, I don't see much problem with the 640x480 setting. Bernie w1az@arrl.net
