How do I take a picture of my desktop? it should be ctrl-print screen, but when I do that and try to paste it in gimp, there's nothing to paste. also it shows the clipboard as being empty, so obviously it's not grabbing anything. this is in KDE 3 Joe -=-=- ... Life would be easier if I had the source code. Http://tigger.tmcom.com/~josad

Joe, there's a program in SuSE called KSnapShot. It takes a picture of your screen and gives you a .png file. Mine save right into my home directory so they're easy to find. Can send just like a .jpg or .bmp. Hope this is helpful. Gil

The "import" command works great too. Type "import my.jpg", and click the mouse cursor either on the desktop, or a window. You can save it as just about anything, even .ps -- use Perl; #powerful programmable prestidigitation
