Hi I have a laCie mobile firewire external hd, formatte with fat32. Unfortunately I cannot write directory names with capital letters only. can anybody help me? many thanks cheers christoph

Look at the "Mount options for vfat" section of mount man pages. It looks like you need to specify correct 'posix' and 'shortname=' options. Dmitry
