SV: [SLE] SuSE 9.0 Personal and Exchange 5.5
Ben Higginbottom
As for file access, read/write to shares should be ok once you've configured samba. Directly writing to a NTFS partition is however a _bad thing_.
And how do I configure Samba? Is it a part of YaST that can be configured in a GUI, or do I have to install something extra that is not a part of the "SuSE 9.0 Personal Edition"? Just got confused here. On one hand, the websote SuSE.com talks about 9.0 in general stating that: SUSE LINUX in the Home Network Home network administrators also benefit from the progress, as the integration in home networks exclusively or partly consisting of Windows hosts has also become much easier and no longer requires any special knowledge of heterogeneous networks. YaST now offers several new modules for the administration of home networks, enabling the deployment of your machine as DNS server, Samba server, DHCP server, or web server. Or you can simply integrate it in your existing home network with the Samba client module And on the other hand the box wih "SuSE Linux 9.0 Personal" says that "Sambas client and configuration module" is something included in the "Professionel Edition", and not in the "Personal Edition" (the check-list obn the side of the box). I am confused here. What to believe? -j Janus Sandsgaard Projektmedarbejder / Project assistant Teknologirådet / The Danish Board of Technology http://www.tekno.dk
