I understood that as well as you can install SuSE Linux from FTP you can actualy have all the files on your DOS partition and do the installation much faster. So I have downloaded files, I burned boot CD image and started instalation pointing to a folder on my C drive but I always get the message "No hard disks were found for installation Please check your hardware" after language selection. And istallation is aborted. I've tried with "installation=..." parameter, searched the Support DB but I have found NO solution for my problem. Of course, I've tried with one and with two hard disks with same outcome. Is there solution for this, please? Best regards, Deki
Hi Deki,
I have done a similar installation.
1. My dos partition is of type vfat
2. I chose manual installation option, chose 'hard disk' as type of
install, then loaded a 'vfat' kernel module.
3. The boot cd image looks for the directory

Do you have a DOS driver for your CD rom installed in your autoexec.bat and/or the old config.sys file? DOS does not recognise CD roms without some drivers. Good luck. --doug At 01:18 03/19/2003 -0400, Dejan Batic wrote:

I don't understand you. What does autoexec.bat has to do with it? I boot Linux intallation from a CD and I need only Linux installation files from DOS partition. Thaks anyway Doug McGarrett wrote:
