RE: [SLE] Yast2 keeps asking for password

When you run Yast2 as an ordinary user it asks you for the root password (correctly and unsurprisingly). It also offers a checkbox for remembering the password. I always check the checkbox -- but it seems that Yast2 asks for the password again when I start it again later. Is that a bug, or am I just missing something?

I've noticed that ever since SuSE introduced the password box, I thought they would get around to fixing it as it should be obvious to the people doing the testing, no such luck and it's been around as a problem since about KDE 3.0. I haven't reported it and wonder if anyone else has. Regards Sid. </snip> I always assumed that when you check the remember password box it was only for while you had YAST2 open for that session. I'd have to try it again, but if I remember correctly the one time I forgot to check remember password, it kept prompting me for a password everytime I tried to do anything in YAST2 (after logging) So I don't believe it is a bug, just a security feature. Just thought I'd add my 2 cents.
