[opensuse] 11.4/64: Flash-Plugin problems?
Hi all, since a couple of days I experience problems with the flash plugin on my Suse 11.4/64 with the current Firefox... When opening a flash-video on youtube the plugin crashes quite frequently. I am not sure whether this was introduced by one of the last updates. I just realised this 4 days ago. Does anyone alse have similar problems? The Plugin used to work quite ok during the last months... Kind regards, Martin -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Hi, try this. When the flash video is playing, try right clicking on it. In the drop down list, find settings and click on it. There will be a box appear with a check box and the words "Enable hardware acceleration." Uncheck the box, flash should work properly without crashing after you do this. Kudos to Ricardo from Panama for figuring this out. Mark -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Ah, thanks for the reminder! :-) Was just about to reply that I'm frequently experiencing this, too! -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Since the Settings context menu Mark mentioned is always disabled for me, I changed the value of EnableLinuxHWVideoDecode in /etc/adobe/mms.cfg from 1 to 0. Note that I use 12.1 64-bit. I changed mms.cfg and logged in again, but I still had to right-click and disable hardware acceleration. Now it is working again and without "blue people". -- Carlos F Lange -- Recursive: Adj. The next security update (to be released latest Monday) will remove this file again. Ciao, Marcus -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
