SuSE's mail list is beginning to barf a lung. I am getting several messages like the one listed below. They refer to msgs I previously sent and that appeared on the list. They suggest that the attached msg wasn't posted on the mail list, but I know they were for a fact.. An exerpt, listed just below, seems to indicate a revival of a previous problem where the SuSE list got confused between my hostname and the mail header contents. ???

why is suse 7.0 version of perl so old?
You're right it is ! No idea..
It surfaced many times on the list already. 5.6 breaks several SuSE configuration scripts. If you need 5.6, go install it, but keep good old 5.005 to be able to use SuSE configuration. -Kastus

Please expand on this. I do use fetchmail to retrieve my mail from ISP, but I haven't touched its configuration since I installed it 5 months ago. And now suddenly I start receiving these error messages which are quite delayed in time, like Dec 5 I received an error dated Dec 2. Do you know where to look at? -Kastus
