[SLE] need help please
I am getting the oddest behavior and can't find it mentioned in the FAQ... My login dialog ("Welcome to SuSE Linux at linux") is partially covered by a smaller window titled "Console log for linux" which covers the popup menus at the bottom of the aforementioned login dialog. The "Console log for linux" window cannot be moved or closed and therefore prevents me from making any login choices from the popups. How do I get rid of this window or at least move it out of the way??? You must be running a very low resolution. Have a look at /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xdm/Xsetup_0. At the end of the file there is a line starting with "exec $xconsole ...", just put a hash sign in front of it to comment it out. This should prevent the startup of xconsole.
