beata:/var/lib/ldap # groupadd -D 'cn=Administrator,dc=the-server,dc=net' --service ldap -g 1006 special
Enter LDAP Password: Base DN for group `special' is "ou=group,dc=the-server,dc=net". LDAP information update failed: Object class violation
This probably will not help, but when I did a search on google for "--service ldap -g 1006 special" I was asked if I meant "--service ldap -g1006 special". No space between the -g and 1006. The only other suggestions that I saw that may help are to reimport the object, as it may not have imported correctly, and to check your configuration files. I assume that there was not any other output about the error? James W

Nah.. The problem was a conflict in a LDAP restore, when I deleted those user posts, everything worked fine. -- Anders Norrbring Norrbring Consulting
