Running SuSE 7.1 with X 4.10 and KDE 2.2.1 I upgraded to KDE 2.2.1 using the rpms on the SuSE site. Everything works fine except that when I am logged in as a user and pick Yast2 as the app, it prompts me for the password, then after I enter the password the dialog box disappears and Yast2 doesn't load. The exact same thing happens if I try to run file manager in Super User mode. It prompts for the password and then disappears after the password is entered. Yast1 works fine when I am logged in as user. I have used YOU from Yast2 numerous times when logged in as a user. Did I goof on the 2.2.1 installation? Mike -- Michael A. I don't think you goofed. It just does not work, and never has as far as my experience goes. I am sure someone will contradict me on this ! .. lol -- Regards Cliff

When the dialog box disappears, it probably means the password was incorrect. Verify that: 1) You typed in the "root" password (not your user password). 2) You spelled the root password correctly. 3) Caps Lock is turned off.
