Erik, Have you had any luck?
Hi Franklin. Oh yes, and sorry I haven't replied before. Got it solved yesterday morning. I had the mantel in my source list, and as such I have a mantel kernel imported/installed. I got it fixed using Yast2. For the aaa_base that I lacked, I encountered, that even I use Yast after having booted from the failsafe option in the menu -not from the DVD-, I couldn't get my DVD drive mounted. I then did boot from the DVD, and now the Yast2 could update my aa_base package, and I could after that do an mkinitrd, where I could see what was wrong. Still I had the problem with my dvd, that couldn't be mounted. My friend Joe Morris helped me with that, and the problems got fixed. I think I for sure will follow the 4 rules now after have ran Synaptic :-). And the best of it, I learned of it. Thanks again to you, and to all, that responded to my qery. Erik.
