[SLE] Latest Amarok won't play flac
I use Amarok on 10,1 to play my music collection in flac format. However the latest version 1.4.0_2.0-2 from Guru, updated via Smart will not paly flaac files, saying there is no audio channel. I have a fully updated installation including KDE 3.5.3, and previous versions of Amarok have always played flac files. Anybody know of a way to fix this please ? I am sorry to bother you, but I have the same problem, even with xine engine. Did you solved it somehow? No. Xine is the cause of the problem. 1.1.1 will not play flacs, at least on x86_64. See: http://sources.gentoo.org/viewcvs.py/gentoo/src/patchsets/xine-lib/1.1.2cvs20060328/270_all_flac-has-audio.patch?rev=1.1&view=markup We need a new version compiled from CVS, as this was only fixed a few weeks ago (hope it got sent back into the normal tree). I've tried to recompile to myself repeatedly, with no luck. Perhaps someone here can succeed where I failed. In the interim, you can at least play them with juk + akode|arts Regards, Mark -- Check the headers for your unsubscription address For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the archives at http://lists.suse.com Please read the FAQs: suse-linux-e-faq@suse.com

I couldn't fix it either, nor could I get it to compile so I reverted to Amarok 1.3.8, which does what I want anyway. I'll have to try that as well. I just hope the Postgresql collection stuff works.....
