things up by first installing the kde.org rpms.......? Just a guess, but I'm grasping at straws here. :) Maybe I should completely uninstall all the kde stuff and start over w/

Thats not a bad idea Mike. If I were you, I'd put the RPM's on that SuSE distribute since they are compiled with the SuSE platform in mind (and thus know where all the files are to be put). The ones from "kde.org" might be putting their files in different locations. So, my advice would be to uninstall all the rpms from "kde.org" and install the ones from the SuSE Cd :-) Let me know how you get on, eh?
