Bittorent Killing Me
This is absolutely driving me nuts. The only Bittorrent client I seem to be able to get working is under Windoze.... I have tried BitTornado, and I get this message raceback (most recent call last): File "./btdownloadgui.py", line 29, in ? from BitTornado.ConfigReader import configReader File "/home/brad/supers/bittorrent/BitTornado-CVS/BitTornado/ConfigReader.py", line 40, in ? _CHECKINGCOLOR = ColorToHex(wxSystemSettings_GetColour(wxSYS_COLOUR_3DSHADOW)) File "/usr/lib64/python2.3/site-packages/wx/_misc.py", line 145, in SystemSettings_GetColour return _misc_.SystemSettings_GetColour(*args, **kwargs) wx._core.PyNoAppError: The wx.App object must be created first! I am not familliar with python, or wx so I'm not sure what to do next. I have tried azureus, and I get this message Loading Azureus: java -Xms16m -Xmx128m -cp "/home/brad/supers/bittorrent/azureus/Azureus2.jar:/home/brad/supers/bittorrent/azureus/swt.jar:/home/brad/supers/bittorrent/azureus/swt-mozilla.jar:/home/brad/supers/bittorrent/azureus/swt-pi.jar" -Djava.library.path="/home/brad/supers/bittorrent/azureus" -Dazureus.install.path="/home/brad/supers/bittorrent/azureus" org.gudy.azureus2.ui.swt.Main '' Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: /home/brad/supers/bittorrent/azureus/libswt-pi-gtk-3106.so: /home/brad/supers/bittorrent/azureus/libswt-pi-gtk-3106.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory at java.lang.ClassLoader$NativeLibrary.load(Native Method) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadLibrary0(ClassLoader.java:1586) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadLibrary(ClassLoader.java:1511) at java.lang.Runtime.loadLibrary0(Runtime.java:788) at java.lang.System.loadLibrary(System.java:834) at org.eclipse.swt.internal.Library.loadLibrary(Library.java:100) at org.eclipse.swt.internal.gtk.OS.<clinit>(OS.java:19) at org.eclipse.swt.internal.Converter.wcsToMbcs(Converter.java:63) at org.eclipse.swt.internal.Converter.wcsToMbcs(Converter.java:54) at org.eclipse.swt.widgets.Display.<clinit>(Display.java:118) at org.gudy.azureus2.ui.swt.mainwindow.SWTThread.<init>(SWTThread.java:71) at org.gudy.azureus2.ui.swt.mainwindow.SWTThread.createInstance(SWTThread.java:55) at org.gudy.azureus2.ui.swt.mainwindow.Initializer.<init>(Initializer.java:106) at org.gudy.azureus2.ui.swt.Main.<init>(Main.java:73) at org.gudy.azureus2.ui.swt.Main.main(Main.java:100) Azureus TERMINATED. I installed libswt3-gtk2 SWT Library for GTK2, and still get same message. I'm trying to play with mldonkey at the moment...... Any suggestions? B-)

Where from you got Azureus? There is a good rpm if you use apt. Or you can get it from here: http://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/apt/SuSE/9.2-i386/RPMS.suser-gbv/azureus-2... Also, here you can try with BitTornado: http://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/apt/SuSE/9.2-i386/RPMS.suser-oc2pus/BitTor... Sunny -- Get Firefox http://www.spreadfirefox.com/?q=affiliates&id=10745&t=85

Good. I'm using Azureus. It is the best in my opinion, much more configurable, etc., than the other clients. Sunny -- Get Firefox http://www.spreadfirefox.com/?q=affiliates&id=10745&t=85

Finally!!!! The BitTornado rpm installed ok, but still wouldn't run giving this error Traceback (most recent call last): File "./btdownloadgui.py", line 7, in ? from BitTornado import PSYCO ImportError: No module named BitTornado the azureus rpm wouldn't install at first claiming missing libs, liblinc.so.1 is needed by azureus-2.2.0.2-0.gbv.2 libnspr4.so is needed by azureus-2.2.0.2-0.gbv.2 libplc4.so is needed by azureus-2.2.0.2-0.gbv.2 libplds4.so is needed by azureus-2.2.0.2-0.gbv.2 libxpcom.so is needed by azureus-2.2.0.2-0.gbv.2 That were present under the gnome/lib64 dir so I did an rpm -Uvh --nodeps, and it installed, the typed azureus at the command line and VIOLA! What an awesome client. Blows the other one (under Windoze) away (won't mention names). Thanks for the link Sunny. now I can sleep at night. hehehe B-)
