If you enter "fire extinguisher" into Google, you will discover (among tons of stuff) that there is a program called, of course, Fire Extinguisher, which will let you use your email from the office, even if your company has firewalled it out. (It's not free. It's not even reasonable, in my opinion.) Then there is the UNIX fire extinguisher. Presumably for when lp0 is on fire? You can do the same with ssh tunneling as well. E.g., ssh -N -f -C -L 6666:remotehost.com:25 remotehost.com which makes remotehost:25 accessible on localhost:6666 -- -ckm
