[opensuse] KMail, automatic view of jpg attachments
At least since 11.1 email with jpg attachments were automatically shown under the mail. This was highly appreciated especially by my wife when she receives attached photo's from the family at times that I am not at home. She could have a look at the pictures without opening them in a picture viewer. In 11.2 I am still looking into the Settings/Configure KMail to get the pictures shown. Must have missed the settings because for the moment I only get a small pic with a balloon and the jpg file-name which I can of course click, in order to look at the pictures. Could somebody help me out? I am using Kmail version 1.12.4 -- Pentium III Powered by openSUSE 11.2 (i586) Kernel: 2.6.31.5-0.1-desktop KDE: 4.3.4 (KDE 4.3.4) "release 2" 21:59pm up 2:32, 2 users, load average: 0.38, 0.36, 0.20 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

IIRC this has been optional for a long time.

Sure.
In 11.2 I am still looking into the Settings/Configure KMail to get the pictures shown. [...]
Try View->Attachments->Inline: | Inline shows the contents of the attachments at the bottom of the message. | Attachments that cannot be displayed, e.g. compressed files, will still be | shown as an icon. Thanks Jan, Rodney, But in my KMail menu in the View field I have only 5 choices. Expand and Collapse Thread, Expand and Collapse All Threads and View Source. No "View->Attachments->Inline" This is the version 1.12.4. I do not remember ever to activate that possibility so I did not miss it. Is my KMail version incomplete? Reinstall or filing a bug report with the KMail people? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

There is a separate View menu in the message window, and that's where you can select Attachment viewing options. Leslie -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
By default I assume the attachment was not found on the view menu. I went to the settings tool and under the toolbar menu I activated attachments. That did it ;) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
