Hi Marcel, in the release notes is written, that the non-GPL ATI driver is available via YOU, but I did not find it there. So I fetched it from ati.com, compiled and installed it, and it works partly: - the driver itself works - the controlpanel did not - the S-VIDEO did not work - MergedFB works (with the anoying scrolling) - DualHead (with Xinerama) did not work. On my four computers with ati graphics (7500,9200SE,9200,X600) I always used the opensource driver, and it works great (even on an old ppc with rage128): DualHead with Xinerama or SingeHead with DRI. Except for X600. This chip works only without any accelaration (gpl-driver). And if I use the nonGPL driver, I can't make DualHead with Xinerama working :-( -- mdc
I'll spare everyone the details, but basically because of a problem with the install (see https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=115022), I can only think of doing a "system upgrade" through Yast. However I only have the 9.3 isos here, and after system upgrading from 9.3 to 10.0, Yast Online Update (YOU) still thinks my base system is 9.3 and hence fetches updates for 9.3, which would download my system, very annoying. Therefore does anyone know where I can download 10.0 beta3 (the last known build to work on my chipset), Thanks, Matt
