Disabeling close for a window
SuSE8.0, Default install system: Can someone point me towards the right direction on this one: I would like to be able to disable the "close window" option from the top bar of an application. I would do this globally for any application by that particular name. For example if I started up an xterm window, and did not want to be able to close the window by clicking the x icon on the top bar of the window. Thanks, Ron -- Ron Joffe rjoffe@yahoo.com

I think you would need to modify the source code for the particular application. Actually removing the x may be difficult, but you may be able to replace the default code that handles the signal with something else. Typically you'd need to learn C/C++, and KDE or GTK+ to do this. JDL
Well, I was looking for something more specific to the window manager. For example in twm I can specifically filter out a window application type and set it's own parameters for headings and title box. I'm looking for that same type of capabilities in KDE. Don't know about kwm, but since Window Maker supports KDE hints you can switch to it as your wm. Window Maker is very configurable when it comes to this. Charles -- "...Deep Hack Mode--that mysterious and frightening state of consciousness where Mortal Users fear to tread." (By Matt Welsh)
