I am trying to use kdrc to connect to a windows remote desktop. I know the name of the server but I am still having problems. Is there a prefix I need to use? Like smb:// or rdc:// I am new to this and am trying to get a linux machine to work with my school board. try rdp:// if you are going to use the WIndows Remote Desktop program on your Windows machine -- Check the headers for your unsubscription address For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the archives at http://lists.suse.com Please read the FAQs: suse-linux-e-faq@suse.com

Try rdp://IP-ADDRESS-HERE First, make sure there isn't any other network-related problem. Check if you can telnet to that server on the RDP protocol port: telnet ip-address-of-server 3389 (which is the standard port). If you get something like "connection refused" or it stays on "Trying..." then you know there's a problem. If you get "Connected to...." everything should be fine. When you open the application (krdc) click on the link 'examples.' There you'll find that the prefix is rdp:/ Best regards, Carlos. -- <nick> grah windows just crashed again, unstable crap. <yukito> Windows isn't unstable, it's just spontaneous. -- Check the headers for your unsubscription address For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the archives at http://lists.suse.com Please read the FAQs: suse-linux-e-faq@suse.com
