[opensuse] restoring session (optisun64 + command)
I am working on lenovo z570 under opensuse/kde To exploit its nvidia graphic card with firefox, konqueror, chrome, okular, and more applications i have set suitable alias commands in /etc/zshrc to put optrun64 before. Yet, restoring session does not re-execute optirun64, probably because the alias file has not been read by the kde session manager. Any hints? Any suggestions for better ways to globally put a command before the desired applications? make a script to start your program. not familiar with "optirun..", and googling doesn't present opensuse association, more umbuntu/bumblebee. Please enlighten me. -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA HOG # US1244711 http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://linuxcounter.net -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Hi again, Paolo. Is the typo just here in your e-mail or also on the commanline? "optrun64" /= "optirun64" :-) Carl -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Yes, my mistake, it is optirun64 To answer Patrick, optirun is part of the Bumblebee package, by which you can use your nVidia card for rendering graphics which will be displayed using the Intel card. M laptop has two graphic cards, intel and nvidia, the latter one, more powerful, being intended to be used for games, I would like to use for my ordimary office activities. https://build.opensuse.org/package/show?package=bumblebee&project=home%3ABumblebee- Project%3ABumblebee-develop Paolo -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Thanks for the info. Maybe I'm too simple but why not just disable the intel video card in the laptop bios as I would in a desktop, or is this not possible? -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA HOG # US1244711 http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://linuxcounter.net -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
