Hi
Could someone recommend a scanner that is easy to install and works nicely under SuSE 7.2?
Hi Jaska, Have a look at: http://www.buzzard.org.uk/jonathan/scanners-usb.html USB-support under Linux is yet improving AFAIK. I bought a ScanMaker X6 from Microtek and gave away the Mustek 1200 CU I had buoght before, because this was not working on Linux. But that was one year ago! The ScanMaker X6 comes with a SCSI-Card, both card (1) and scanner are supported, and what's more, my wife prefers xsane to the (windoze-)scanning programme that used to ship with the Mustek. You should investigate the possibilities of using a USB-scanner well, because they are far cheaper and available in greater choice. SCSI is yet 'safer', in cases of doubt, I'm afraid. Cheers ...
