Hi, You need to build a new module. Install the km_drm package and follow the instructions in the SuSE README: # cd /usr/src/kernel-modules/drm # make -f Makefile.module # rm -f /lib/modules/`uname -r`/video/{gamma.o,i810.o,mga.o,r128.o,tdfx.o} # install -m 644 -o root -g root gamma.o i810.o mga.o r128.o radeon.o tdfx.o /li# depmod -a Of course you only need to install mga.o. Good luck, Tim On Sun, Sep 23, 2001 at 03:07:15PM -0500, Robert C. Paulsen Jr. wrote:

I can't find the km_drm package. I used YAST to search the distribution CDs. I searched for "km_drm", "kernel-modules", "mga.o" an several similar strings, but nothing looked anything like source for mga.o except the kernel source which I already have installed. I looked at the mga files in /usr/src/linux/drivers/char/drm and the old version (2.0.1) is hard-coded there. Doesn't seem like rebuilding would help unless I changed the version number in the source but that doesn't seem right. I also looked at SuSE's support database and their ftp site but couldn't find mention of km_drm or mga.o. -- ____________________________________________________________________ Robert Paulsen paulsen@texas.net
It´s in the DRI directory of the 4.1.0 packages on the SuSE ftp server: ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/supplementary/X/XFree86/XFree86-4.1.0-SuSE/suse72/DRI/km_drm-4.1.0-10.i386.rpm Again, it´s in the README: ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/supplementary/X/XFree86/XFree86-4.1.0-SuSE/README Don´t give up, Tim On Sun, Sep 23, 2001 at 04:20:10PM -0500, Robert C. Right you are. Don't know how I missed that. Now it's all working OK. -- ____________________________________________________________________ Robert Paulsen paulsen@texas.net
