sis 630 chipset in a laptop
I am trying to get a laptop with the sis 630 chipset running at its rated 1024x768 resolution. I have tried the linux 3 vga=792 method. I have tried the sax2 -m 0=fbdev method I have tried the sax2 -m 0=sis method I have tried the www.sis.com web site method Anyone have any oterh suggestions. I can only get 800x600 resolution and need the greater resolution for my sales work. the system has 8 meg of video ram. Denis Miller

Hi Denis, I think the only way to get that chip to work with LCD displays is via the frame buffer. Please refer to the following article.
