Hey Group: I have a old (the manufacture must be embarrass to say they made it) unlabeled "GDI" P51430VX/250DM Explorer II with a socket 7 and four 72 pin/one 168 pin memory motherboard. It has three 5 pin headers. Knoppix states it finds uhci USB ports and a PS/2 port. I would like to know the pin out on these ports so as to use the PS/2 port and release a mouse COM port. I have the round PS/2 information and can modify the 5 pin header to match. Does anyone have a book on this board? -- 73 de Donn Washburn __ " http://www.hal-pc.org/~n5xwb " Ham Callsign N5XWB / / __ __ __ __ __ __ __ 307 Savoy St. / /__ / / / \/ / / /_/ / \ \/ / Sugar Land, TX 77478 /_____/ /_/ /_/\__/ /_____/ /_/\_\ LL# 1.281.242.3256 a MSDOS Virus "Free Zone" OS Email: n5xwb@hal-pc.org Info: http://www.knoppix.com

Sounds like an old Intel board. Check out the Intel website and look under their archive section. You're have to dig around since that's a really old board. Christopher Reimer

Thanks for the suggestion: I just decided it was easier to figure it out than chase the net. It is working just fine now. I just wish that my Linux and electronic knowledge had employment value these days. By the way there appears to be no standard on the motherboard header for ps/2 or ttyS ports. -- 73 de Donn Washburn __ " http://www.hal-pc.org/~n5xwb " Ham Callsign N5XWB / / __ __ __ __ __ __ __ 307 Savoy St. / /__ / / / \/ / / /_/ / \ \/ / Sugar Land, TX 77478 /_____/ /_/ /_/\__/ /_____/ /_/\_\ LL# 1.281.242.3256 a MSDOS Virus "Free Zone" OS Email: n5xwb@hal-pc.org Info: http://www.knoppix.com
