Re: [opensuse] KDE 3 users: What's missing in KDE 4.3?
How about a knetworkmanager applet that can deal with hidden wireless networks in KDE 4.3, or will I continue to have to use KDE3 knetworkmanger in KDE 4.3 ?
Right now I am using wicd.
Fixed for KDE 4.3! In the context menu of the system tray icon (it is no longer a plasmoid), click on "Configure Other Network..." -- Dotan Cohen http://what-is-what.com http://gibberish.co.il -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Hmm, using KDE 4.3 from o:f still does not connect to hidden wireless, wicd or KDE3 nm works fine -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

What did you try? If the current configuration is unintuitive then I'd like to file a feature request based on what you _expect_ to be able to do. I'm still working on making hidden wireless networks selectable in NM-kde4 (knetworkmanager). Top priority here. Will -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Checked in to SVN and to KDE:KDE4:Factory:Desktop - please test r1017188 when it builds through. Finally tried the networkmanager-kde4 I have installed from KDE:KDE4:Factory:Desktop:OpenSuse_11.1, version 0.9.svn1021242-106.1 installed. I can create the hidden wireless fine and shows up in the connect to other network list (once I create via manage network connections, when I select the hidden network and click connect NM appears to make no attempt to connect, so no connection is established. Connecting to wired or wireless that's not hidden works great in NM-kde4, I personally like layout in nm-kde4 Hidden wireless works fine via nm KDE3 or WICD, for now I'm back on WICD Is there something I'm doing wrong ? Can Knemo cause nm-kde4 a problems ? Thanks, Tony -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
