[opensuse] Download manager
Hi, I think I hate Kget (I paused it when openSUSE 11.1 was about 85%, whent I click resume it start at 0% again). Does any one knows about a good downloader manager to download openSUSE 11.1 DVD iso with stop/resume support? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Kget has always been very buggy for me. Try this instead: http://lizards.opensuse.org/2008/12/16/best-way-to-download-opensuse/ to download from mirrors and bittorrent simultaneously, or use a bittorrent client (ktorrent, azureus etc). I used aria2c and downloaded at 10 Mb/s. Hope this helps. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Install the package aria2 and run aria2c from command line. Regards Dave P -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

open a text window and: aria2c -V -c http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/11.1/iso/<your-package> -- Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA HOG # US1244711 http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://counter.li.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I used KTorrent for both the 32-bit and 64-bit DVDs, and things went pretty smoothly, although a bit slow at first. I was consistently uploading far more than I was downloading. Eventually enough seeders were online to make it all happen. Today should be better for everyone - I'm still seeding with a server on a cable connection, for what it's worth. On my laptop, where I've changed from Thunderbird to KMail, it was KGet that fired up for me. I was surprised to find out that it handles torrents as well. Got the add-ons CD using that machine. I think I prefer KTorrent, but perhaps it's because I don't have much experience with KGet yet. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

wget works well for me and is available on 10.2, and I suspect onwards. You can stop a session with a <CTRL-C> and resume by invoking it e.g.: wget -c http://
