[SLE] Error transfering data to RAMDISK during 6.4 install
I posted this question before but I was quite vague with what I said so I'll give it another shot. After successfully booting off of the floppy install diskette I am brought to the "Have a lot of fun..." screen. The disk is read correctly and it proceeds to boot without incident. When I get to the main menu I proceed to the install/upgrade menu, pick my install medium (CD-ROM) and hit enter. The CD is read from and it says "transferring data to ramdisk" After it finishes nothing seems to happen and my screen stays the same. I move the arrow keys around and find out that I'm back at the menu and nothing has launched. The windows all overlap each other and when I go back through the menus they do not re-draw... which makes navigating through them a bit difficult. Aside from that my real problem is that it never actually launches the install. I ALT+arrow keyed over to the other screen and took down the following information while the data was being loaded to the ramdisk. --begin-- Loading image << /var/adm/mount/suse/images/root >> Loading of rootimage returns 0 Mounting of inst-sys returns -1 --end-- Anyone have any ideas as to what might be causing this?
