Compiling RAID module for x86_64
Hello, I am trying to get the RAID module compiled for SuSE 9.0 for use with an Athlon64. The RAID controller is a Highpoint 1820. They supply the source to compile your own module, but, I do not have access to a machine that can compile it for the x86_64. It is available at http://www.highpoint-tech.com/BIOS%20%2B%20Driver/rr1820/rr182x-openbuil d-v1.01.tgz If there is anyone who would be willing to help me out, I would really appreciate it. -- Matthew I. It's impossible to recompile that driver for AMD64, aka x86-64. The reason is, that the driver is only partially source and the raid code is only supplied as a binary object file in ELF32 format. Thus the driver can only be compiled on an ia32 system. Highpoint would have to provide that object file compiled for AMD64 in order for anyone able to build the driver. Until then, you're out of luck. Philipp
