Hello, How do you get Netscape to print just one page? I figure I need something after the lpr command. I'm looking in my Linux in a Nutshell book, and I don't see the command listed for lpr. George, I can't test it here, but on our Solaris machines the option -P after lp will allow you to specify a page list, i.e., -P 1 for the first page. I will try this out myself tonight. I doubt if it's possible, since the Netscape output is PostScript and lpr would have to parse the PostScript to find the page boundaries. Nothing so simple as ^L. On the other hand, there may be some way of shipping the output off to Ghostscript and then using Ghostscript for the printing -- if it's worth the trouble. Go to www.freshmeat.net and download enprt.csh I've been using it for about a month, as I wanted to be able to do what you mentioned above. -- o' \,=./ `o (o o) ----------ooO--(_)--Ooo-------------------- Patrick Heffernan - Warwick QLD Australia Email: pheff@halenet.com.au ICQ: 54383227 Proudly using Suse Linux 6.3 - www.suse.com * It is easier to fix Unix than to live with NT. -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
If you have the package psutils installed, you could use the following in the print command of the Netscape print panel: psselect -p1 | lpr That will select the first page, see "man psselect". Another trick is to print 2 pages in a single sheet: psnup -2 -pletter | lpr The -pletter option will force the page size to US letter, apparently the default is A4 and that causes the printout to run off the page in my printer. Also, you can add as many pipes as you want. Eg. psnup -2 -pletter | psselect -p1 | lpr Good luck. -- Rafael Herrera -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
Hello, psutils with the psselect command did the trick. I'm surprised that Netscape did not have this set up already. Thanks George On Thu, 06 Jan 2000, you wrote:
